NUC APPROVES 31 DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR DELTA STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, MOSOGAR

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 31 full-time undergraduate degree programmes for the Delta State College of Education, Mosogar, under the Federal Government’s Dual-Mandate policy.

The approval means the College can now run approved NCE and degree programmes side by side, giving students more opportunities to obtain university degrees within the institution.

The development follows a Resource Verification visit by the NUC, during which the Commission assessed the College’s facilities, infrastructure and academic staff for the proposed programmes.

The Dual-Mandate policy, backed by the Federal Colleges of Education and State Colleges of Education 2023 Amendment Act, allows qualified Colleges of Education to operate both NCE and degree programmes.

In its approval letter to the College, the NUC confirmed that it had considered and approved the full-time mode of all 31 undergraduate programmes applied for by Delta State College of Education, Mosogar.

The approval marks a major milestone in the history of Delta State College of Education, Mosogar, as the institution moves into a new era of awarding a University degree under the Dual-Mandate system.

It is also expected to create wider opportunities for students seeking university-level education while continuing to strengthen the College’s role in teacher education and academic development.
