The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has voted unanimously to hold the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) at 27.5%, the Governor announced on Wednesday in Abuja.
The decision was largely anticipated by market analysts who had predicted a hold amid mixed signals from the economy — declining inflation on one hand but fragile growth on the other.
The CBN Governor stated that the committee remains committed to price stability while supporting growth. "We are watching the data carefully and will adjust as necessary," he said.
The naira has shown relative stability in recent weeks, trading around ₦1,580 to the US dollar on the official market.
