The Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL), has reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, integrity and innovation as the Faculty Board of Studies held its meeting yesterday at the Faculty Boardroom.

The meeting, chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Adesina Oladipupo, brought together members of the Faculty to deliberate on matters relating to academic development, teaching, learning and the overall advancement of the Faculty.

Welcoming members to the meeting, Prof. Oladipupo encouraged them to key into the Vice-Chancellor's “Project RAISE UNIDEL Higher” strategy, stressing that the success of the initiative requires the collective commitment and contributions of every member of the university community.

The Dean harped on the need for all hands to be on deck to ensure that the Faculty of Management Sciences remains a pace-setter within the University of Delta. He urged members to continually uphold high standards in teaching, research and academic administration while promoting an environment conducive to learning and professional development.

Prof. Oladipupo, a legal luminary and Chairman of the Faculty Board, also emphasised the importance of academic excellence and academic integrity, noting that the credibility of the university's academic programmes depends significantly on the commitment of lecturers to ethical and professional standards.

The Faculty of Management Sciences comprises five departments: Accounting; Business Administration; Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation; Finance; and Public Administration.

A major item on the agenda was the consideration of sessional results, which provided members with an opportunity to review academic outcomes and deliberate on issues relevant to the continuous improvement of the Faculty's academic processes.

Beyond the formal business of the meeting, the gathering also provided an avenue for faculty members to exchange ideas, network and brainstorm on practical ways of improving their professional experiences and work life. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to building a more collaborative, productive and academically vibrant Faculty.

The Heads of Department were also actively involved in the proceedings. They included Dr. Mrs. Florence Igweh, Head of Department, Business Administration; Dr. Eyide Mike, Accounting; Dr. Solomon Egbule, Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation; Dr. Mrs. Ofurueze, Finance; and Dr. Olatunbosun Sunday, Public Administration.

The HODs readily supported the Dean in piloting the affairs of the meeting, reinforcing the spirit of teamwork and collective leadership within the Faculty.

The Board of Studies meeting therefore underscored the Faculty's determination to remain at the forefront of academic excellence while aligning its activities with the broader vision of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Eric Eboh, to RAISE UNIDEL Higher.

With renewed emphasis on collaboration, integrity, innovation and excellence, the Faculty of Management Sciences appears poised to strengthen its position as one of the leading academic engines of the University of Delta, Agbor.
