Today, we celebrate Gen. Emeke Asiwe, a remarkable personality whose political journey reflects resilience, experience, loyalty and an uncommon understanding of the dynamics of leadership.

Fondly regarded as a civilian five-star general, Emeke Asiwe is a youth mobiliser, a thoroughbred politician and a charismatic leader who has spent considerable time learning the ropes of politics and mastering the art of building relationships across political divides.

As the APC Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area, he occupies a strategic position at a defining moment in the political evolution of the area. His emergence is not merely a recognition of political experience; it is also a testament to the confidence reposed in a man who understands the value of loyalty, consultation, persuasion and inclusive leadership.

Emeke is not a political neophyte. Having served in various capacities under the previous administration in Delta State, he has acquired valuable experience, built enduring relationships and demonstrated the capacity to navigate the often unpredictable waters of politics. He has been tested, trusted and found worthy of greater responsibility.

Today, he represents an important bridge between the old and the new political order. At a time when political divisions can easily become entrenched, his experience, disposition and network of relationships position him to foster understanding, strengthen alliances and promote a more inclusive political environment.

One particularly fascinating quality about Gen. Emeke Asiwe is his approach to political engagement. He possesses a rare combination of charisma, composure and persuasive ability. He can defuse tension with a smile, disarm opposition with soft-spokenness and navigate difficult political conversations without necessarily raising his voice. Indeed, he understands that the most effective battles are sometimes won without firing a single shot.

His strength is not necessarily in confrontation but in negotiation, relationship-building and strategic thinking. He knows when to speak, when to listen and when to extend a hand of friendship. These are valuable attributes in a political environment that desperately needs bridge builders rather than bridge destroyers.

As he celebrates another year today, we recognise not just a political office holder but a man whose journey continues to inspire confidence among associates, supporters and the younger generation of political enthusiasts.

Dear General, may this new chapter bring you greater wisdom, renewed strength, good health and more remarkable accomplishments. May your capacity to build bridges expand, your influence produce meaningful results and your leadership open new opportunities for the people you represent.

May God continue to guide your steps, strengthen your resolve and grant you the grace to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Happy Birthday, Gen. Emeke Asiwe!
