I heartily congratulate my dear friend and brother, Dr. Solomon Egbule Azubuike Chetachi, on his well-deserved appointment as the Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation, University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL), by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eric Chiedum Eboh.
This appointment is a recognition of competence, experience, scholarship and demonstrated commitment to institutional development. It is also a timely opportunity for a dynamic academic and administrator to bring his wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to bear on the continued growth of the Department and the University.
In a media chat with me, Dr. Egbule expressed his profound appreciation to the Vice Chancellor for finding him worthy of the responsibility. He pledged to contribute his quota towards the realisation of the Vice Chancellor’s Project RAISE UNIDEL Higher strategy and to work with colleagues and stakeholders to advance the ideals of excellence, innovation and entrepreneurial development.
Dr. Egbule is a distinguished scholar, researcher, consultant and administrator with considerable experience in business administration, entrepreneurship and human resource management. His academic career spans several institutions, including Bellarks Polytechnic, Kwale; Delta State University, Abraka; Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, Agbara-Otor; and the University of Delta, Agbor.
Before joining UNIDEL, he served as Rector of Bellarks Polytechnic, Kwale, where he provided strategic leadership and contributed to institutional development. At UNIDEL, he has served as a lecturer in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation and as Assistant Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, where he has contributed to academic planning, policy formulation and faculty development.
Academically, Dr. Egbule holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration, M.Sc. in Business Management and Ph.D. in Business Management. His research interests include youth entrepreneurship, human resource consultancy, social intelligence and organisational citizenship behaviour, ICT and employee service delivery, and marketing performance in Nigerian manufacturing firms.
An accomplished researcher, he has authored and co-authored numerous scholarly publications in reputable national and international journals. Beyond research and teaching, he is passionate about mentoring young scholars and developing entrepreneurial capacity, particularly among Nigeria’s rapidly evolving youth population.
As you assume this new responsibility, my dear brother, I have no doubt that your experience, intellectual capacity, administrative exposure and passion for excellence will make a meaningful difference.
Leadership is not merely the privilege of occupying an office; it is the responsibility to create value, inspire others and leave an institution better than one met it.
I am confident that you will bring these qualities to bear in your new assignment.
Once again, congratulations, Dr. Solomon Egbule! May this appointment open another remarkable chapter in your already impressive academic and leadership journey.
Congratulations, my brother and friend. More grace, greater impact and higher heights!
