MORKA, ANOTHER AWARD TO A POLITICAL COMMUNICATOR

This evening, the Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists, NACJ, an affiliate of Nigerian Union of Journalists, will honour Barr Felix Morka, CON, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos. It is in recognition of his untiring efforts in political communication to the members of the APC, the Tinubu-led federal government and Nigerians. The award is well-deserved and also timely.

The award sends a loud message that the current APC-led administration is doing well. The action of NACJ through the recognition of Barr Morka rightly insinuates that he tells incontrovertible story of President Tinubu and his administration. It is a catalyst for the publicity secretary to keep doing the job he is doing very well. He must continue to drive the message into the seemingly impervious minds that there is no alternative to the removal of oil subsidy. Nigerians must be reminded constantly that the streamlining of the foreign exchange rate serves our common interest. Barr Morka must not be distracted in his advocacy that an expanded tax net leads to a reduced burden in real terms. 

With the award, it appears that the NACJ is in sync that true federalism entails decentralized policing, local government autonomy and removal of power generation from the exclusive list. These are some of the difficult but necessary reforms of President Tinubu that Barr Felix Morka is seamlessly advertising. 

The choice of the refined politician is most appropriate as he has shown over the years his efficiency in communicating without ambiguities the success story of the APC government to Nigerians. In his core duty as the party's spokesperson, Barr Morka remains flawless. That the award is coming from a faith-based group further gives the honour a higher moral value. 

In doing his job, Barr Morka ensures he does not turn himself into the news as experienced in time past. He drives his messages with facts and persuasion while ensuring that the language is free of ambiguities. The APC publicity secretary has attained a level where his contemporaries in the opposition political parties secretly give him flowers as they stutter to annul his media presentations and reviews. 

The ease with which he communicates party and government activities is understandable considering that he is one of those that arrange the bricks and pebbles with which the party was built to become a fortress. Barr Morka clearly understands APC such that if it were a residential building, he would be able to trace every item in the house even when the lights are put out. 

The intriguing aspect of Barr Morka's communication efficiency is his capacity to avoid controversies despite always being in the eye of the storm. He has thus far strongly girded his loins in spite of the scrutiny his office attracts. 

While congratulating him, it is imperative to reiterate that more awards will come his way as there are still spaces in his bowler hat to accommodate more feathers. This honour truly gel for our 'Chief-Servant'.
