Today, I celebrate not just a distinguished scholar, but a remarkable administrator, an accomplished researcher, a dependable mentor, and, above all, a man of character and uncommon humility; Dr. Solomon Effiong, Associate Professor of International Economics at Wellspring University, Benin City.
As the Head of the Department of Business Administration and Director of Academic Planning, you have distinguished yourself as a professional administrator whose leadership is defined by competence, discipline, resourcefulness and results. Your contributions to the Department of Business Administration have brought a refreshing breath of life, renewed direction and a stronger sense of purpose to the department.
You are, indeed, a consummate scholar and an erudite researcher whose intellectual depth is matched by your practical understanding of administration. Your expertise in turnaround maintenance has become particularly evident in the way you have approached challenges, identified opportunities and helped reposition the department for greater efficiency and academic excellence.
What makes you even more exceptional, however, is the person behind the accomplishments. You are humble without being weak, principled without being rigid, versatile without losing focus, and resourceful without seeking unnecessary recognition. These qualities make you a rare breed in the academic community.
For young scholars, working with you is not merely an opportunity to serve; it is an opportunity to learn.
